From the perspective of discipline division: electricity, electronics and electrical appliances are all electrical engineering disciplines. The term "electrical engineering" comes from Japan, and the word "gas" comes from a western translation.

1, electrical: electronics, electrical appliances and electricity belong to electrical engineering, it is an abstract concept, not a specific equipment or devices, but refers to the whole system and electronics, electrical and electric power category.

2. Power: power is the strong power part of electrical engineering. It mainly studies the supply of electric energy (generation of electric energy -- power generation system), transmission (power line transmission), transformation (high and low voltage transformation, transformer, circuit breaker, contactor); Electric power is divided into high voltage, voltage distribution;

3. Electronics: electronics refers to the weak current part of electrical engineering, mainly studying the processing and transformation of information; Electrons can be divided into two parts: electronic circuits and electronic systems. Electronic circuit (electronic components) : electronic components, such as diodes, transistors, silicon, and LED lamps, that are used to make circuit boards and electronic designs. Electronic device: an electronic functional device consisting of a single and multiple circuit boards. Electronic system: a system consisting of electronic equipment, i. e. a weak-current engineering system.

4, electrical appliances: electrical appliances are specific equipment, the narrow sense of electrical appliances refers to the industrial field switch. In the civil field, electrical appliances refer to electrical equipment (i.e. electrical equipment such as washing machines, televisions, refrigerators) that consume electricity. Academic definition: all according to the specific signals and requirements of the outside world, automatically or manually on or off the circuit, continue or continuously change the circuit parameters, to achieve the switch of the circuit, control, protection, detection and regulation of electrical equipment are called electrical appliances.

Why call "electric", basically be to point to electric energy to transmit and the way that use has two kinds: it is direct report connection, all use electric equipment inside every voltage grade, through wire, circuit breaker or isolating switch, all have direct report connection. Distinguish electrical engineering from engineering

1. Power generation engineering: power plant construction (hydroelectric power generation, thermal power generation, geothermal power generation, etc.)

2. High-voltage transmission project: responsible for high-voltage distribution projects from power plants to power grid regions, regions to provinces and cities and urban areas. Above 3KV voltage.

3. High and low voltage project: it is responsible for connecting the high voltage to the transformer project of unit, enterprise or community and the transformation of high and low voltage with 10kv-3kv voltage from the urban high voltage power supply.

4. Strong power distribution engineering: it is responsible for connecting the 380V power output from the transformer to the power distribution room of each electric building and workshop and the power distribution room to the power consumption place in each electric unit. That is, 380-220v.

5. Weak current engineering: namely, electronic system engineering, which combines electronic equipment to form a system. All electronic systems engineering below 110V.
