     The Changsha Maglev Express Line connects Changsha High-speed Railway South Station and Changsha Huanghua International Airport. It is the first medium- and low-speed maglev railway in China with completely independent intellectual property rights. It was opened on May 6, 2016. The Changsha Maglev Express Line has a total length of 18.55 kilometers and is laid over the whole course. There are 3 stations and 2 reserved stations. A new vehicle base (including the control center) is located near the Changsha High-speed Railway Station. The train consists of 3 sections and is designed for a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The Changsha Maglev Express Line is the first medium- and low-speed magnetic levitation in China that is self-designed, self-manufactured, self-constructed and self-managed. It is a key project in Hunan Province to implement the “Belt and Road” initiative.



R&D history

On April 30, 2014, the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission approved the “Feasibility Study Report of Changsha Maglev Engineering”.

On May 16, 2014, the Changsha Maglev Express Line officially started construction.

From September 20 to 22, 2015, the first maglev train arrived at the depot.

On October 5, 2015, the Changsha Maglev Express Line realized the entire line of “Liangtong”.

On October 16, 2015, Changsha Maglev Express Line realized the full line of “railway”.

On December 1, 2015, the Changsha Maglev Express line was successfully delivered to the whole line.

On December 2, 2015, the Changsha Maglev Express completed the hot-slip test.

On December 26, 2015, the Changsha Maglev Express Line began trial operation.

On February 18, 2016, Changsha Maglev Express online trial run to carry out system commissioning work.

On May 6, 2016, the Changsha Maglev Express Line began to carry out passenger trial operation.



Rail technology

The track type adopts a steel pillow type medium and low speed maglev track structure, and the track structure mainly consists of an induction plate, an F-shaped steel, a steel sleeper, an expansion joint, a connecting piece, a fastener system, a track-bearing track bed and the like. Track irregularity requirements: no more than 1.5mm / 4m.
